Number of days required for acquiring VISA
The number of days for the issuance of visa varies depending on the nature of application. In the case of visa applications that can be processed by the diplomatic establishment itself (not requiring any further inquiries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo), the process usually takes about one week.
In the case of applications that require additional inquiries and consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it could take two to three months or even longer, so please allow plenty of leeway.
(Note: Applicants are requested to apply for visa at least two weeks prior to the date of departure.)
