Japanese Female Parliamentarian’s Visit: Promotional event of Nepal Airlines’ Direct Flight to Japan and Visit Nepal 2020
A delegation of Japanese female parliamentarians, led by Ms. Tomomi Inada, Chief Deputy Secretary-General, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Former Minister of Defense, along with Ms. Fusae Ota, Member of House of Councillors, and Ms. Mio Sugita, Member of House of Representatives, visited Nepal from 29th to 31st August, 2019.
On 30th August, they paid a courtesy call to Rt. Hon. Presindent Ms. Bidya Devi Bhandari, Hon.Foreign Minister Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Hon. Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Ms. Tham Maya Thapa.
In the evening, they attended the promotional event of the launching of Nepal Airlines' direct flight to Japan, and Visit Nepal 2020, which was co-organized by the Embassy, Nepal Airlines and the Nepal Tourism Board at the Embassy hall.
The Hon. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Mr. Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi and country manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation, Mr. Santosh Pandey also joined the program. Mr. Suraj Vaidya, National coordinator of Visit Nepal 2020 and Ms. Sabina Shakya, Sales Department Deputy Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation delivered presentations, and more than 50 government and business people attended. The direct flight between Kathmandu to Kansai (Osaka) resumed after more than a decade on 29th August, 2019. It is expected to encourage more active people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
