*April 27, 2021:  Announcement for MEXT Scholarship 2022 is now cancelled, due to the decision made by the Nepal Government to put off all the university-level examination until further notice, as a preventive measure of COVID-19 infection.  The Embassy of Japan would like to follow this decision made by the Nepal Government for our scholarship selection.  We appreciate for your understanding.*

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP
 
The Embassy of Japan announces the competition for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships for Nepali students for the academic year 2022 in the fields of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
 
Program
1. Research Students                                  
Qualifications
Must be under 35 years of age (as of April 1, ’22) and have completed at least 16 years of education (15 years is also accepted if the undergraduate course is designed for only 3 years) and secured 70% marks (CGPA: 3.1) for Natural Sciences and 60% (CGPA: 2.5) for Humanities and Social Sciences in average in all levels of exams.
 
2. Undergraduate Students and 3. Specialized Traning College Students
 Qualifications
Must have been born between April 2, 1997 and April 1, 2005 and have secured at least 75%marks (CGPA: 3.5) for Natural Sciences and 65% marks (CGPA: 2.9) for Humanities and Social Sciences individually in both SLC and Plus 2.
Written examinations will be held on June 11, 2021.
 
The field of study must be the same as the applicants' previous study leading to their final graduation.
 
Qualified and interested students are required to send the attested copies of their academic records (mark-sheets and graduation certificates), citizenship certificates, and a research proposal to be done in Japan (for research students) by Friday, May 14, 2021 at the latest, addressed to education@km.mofa.go.jpWe only accept submissions by email.  Please make sure that attachments for the email should be below 10MB, otherwise we cannot receive it.
