Ambassador Kikuta: Message for the Seventh Constitution Day
2021/9/20

Happy Constitution Day to all Nepali friends! सम्पूर्ण नेपाली मित्रहरूमा संविधान दिवसको हार्दिक शुभकामना ।
It is my pleasure to share the cerebration of this year’s Nepali national day with you. Indeed, there is a congratulatory message sent from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan to Rt. Hon. Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari, the President of Nepal for this special occasion.
Like last year, we are still in a difficult situation because of COVID-19. The Government of Japan has been assisting Nepal’s challenges to overcome this pandemic by supplying medical equipment for hospitals all over the country, as well as supporting the vaccination campaign with Japanese-made AstraZeneca vaccines.
It is now six months into of my tenure in Kathmandu, which commenced on the same day that the COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX facility, arrived here in March 2021. This was a very memorable day for me. I look forward to working further with colleagues of the Nepali government for the progress of post-COVID Nepali society.
Next year, 2022, is a special year for the people-to-people exchange between our two countries, and we hope to enhance this friendship by commemorating the 120th anniversary of the dispatch of the first eight Nepali students to Japan in 1902.
The annual Nepali festive season will starts shortly, so please stay safe in this joyful time.
