Election observation team headed by H.E. Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan (November 24, 2022)

H.E. Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and his team visited Nepal from November 20 to 21, 2022, to observe the election of the House of Representative and Provincial Assembly, held on November 20, 2022.


H.E. State Minister Takei is the highest dignitary who led the election observer from Japan to Nepal and the visit was  fruitful. During the visit, State Minister has observed the polling stations on November 20 and a counting center on November 21 in Kathmandu and learnt that the election of Nepal was carried out in democratic manner.


H.E. State Minister Takei also paid courtesy calls on Rt. Hon. Ms. Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, Rt. Hon. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chairperson of National Assembly, and Hon. Mr. Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, Chief Election Commissioner.


The year 2022 is the 120th anniversary of International Student Exchanges between Japan and Nepal. The visit and election observation by H.E. State Minister Takei is one of the highlights of this memorable year.
