Ambassador Maeda attended the JDS Social Program (February 16, 2026)

On February 16, Ambassador Maeda attended the JDS Social Program and met with JDS alumni who studied in Japan through the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship, also known as JDS.
The program was attended by Mr. Sumanraj Aryal, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Mr. Gokarna Mani Duwadee, President of the JDS Alumni Association Nepal (JDSAAN), joint secretaries, representatives of various Japan-related associations, and professors from Japanese universities, as well as many alumni.
During the program, Chief Secretary Mr. Aryal expressed his gratitude for the support of the Government of Japan in the field of human resource development, and representatives of JDS alumni expressed their determination to use their knowledge and experience gained in Japan for the development of Nepal and to strengthen the bilateral relations between Japan and Nepal.
Ambassador Maeda highlighted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal and expressed his hope that JDS alumni and the JDSAAN will organize and participate in various events to strengthen our friendship, in collaboration with other alumni organizations related to Japan in Nepal.
