Japan Signs Landmark Agreement to Digitalize Japanese Language Education at Tribhuvan University

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Japan-Nepal Diplomatic Relations, H.E. Mr. MAEDA Toru, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, signed a grant contract today with Ms. Amira Dalli, President of Love Green Nepal, for “The Project for the Improvement of Japanese Language Classrooms at the Campus of International Languages, Tribhuvan University.” The signing was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University.

The project is funded under the Government of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP), with a total grant amount of USD 64,885 (approximately NPR 9.3 million).

The project, managed by Love Green Nepal, aims to fundamentally modernize the learning environment at the university. This initiative replaces old equipment with state-of-the-art Electronic Smart Boards for interactive learning, alongside a full renovation of classrooms and the installation of new ergonomic furniture.

The Embassy of Japan believes this project will ensure that Nepal’s future leaders have a world-class environment in which to master the Japanese language and culture. The Embassy further hopes that this cultural and educational assistance will deepen the longstanding ties and mutual understanding between the two countries for years to come.
