Japanese Traditional Performing Arts in Kathmandu

On 4th August, 2017, a group of Japanese traditional performing artists - Omiyamae Local Performing Artists, based at Kasuga Shrine in Suginami City, Tokyo - showed their traditional performance in the Embassy Hall. This program was organized with the support of the Japanese Embassy of Nepal and Arts Council Tokyo.
A total of 90 people, both Japanese and Nepalese, came along to enjoy the program. The Japanese traditional dance and music program was highly appreciated by all the audience. At the program, the artists performed Shinzen-mai (traditional dance related to the Shinto religion), Matsuri-bayashi (festival musical performance), Shishi-mai and Daikoku-mai (lion dance). The audience enjoyed their performance and Japanese culture.
