Language Laboratory to International Languages Campus, Tribhuwan University (1992)
The Government of Japan provided 35 million Yen to the Campus of International Languages for the Supply of a Language Laboratory as a cultural grant. The grant is aimed at promoting and facilitating study of Japanese language in the Campus. Many students of Japanese language studying at International Languages Campus are getting the benefit of audio-visual facilities there.
Printing Equipment to Royal Nepal Academy (1993)
The Government of Japan has provided a cultural grant amounting to 50 million Japanese Yen to the Royal Nepal Academy for the Supply of Printing Equipment. Under the grant, an offset printing machine and accessories were provided. After the installation of a modern offset press, the Academy is able to print its publications on its own press.
Supply of Sports Goods to National Sports Council (1994)
The Government of Japan extended 50 million yen to the National Sports Council for the Supply of Sports Goods as a cultural grant-in-aid. The project is aimed to promote sports facilities in Nepal. Donated equipment includes weight-lifting accessories, table tennis boards, volleyball, judo equipment etc. The equipment was distributed to almost all districts, zonal and regional level sports committees. The donated sports equipment greatly helped to uplift the sports standard in various parts of Nepal.
Display Equipment to Buddhist Art Gallery at National Museum (1995)
The Government of Japan extended forty-nine million and five hundred thousand Japanese Yen to His Majesty's Government of Nepal for Display Equipment in the Buddhist Art Gallery at the National Museum of Nepal. The purpose of the grant is to help preserve Buddhist articles so as to help the visitors study and research. After completion this display has been used by national and international visitors for observation as well as their research works.
Supply of Television Programs & Editing Equipment to Nepal Television (1997)
The Government of Japan extended cultural grant-in-aid to Nepal Television Corporation amounting to forty-eight million, two hundred thousand Japanese yen for the Supply of Television Programs and Editing Equipment. The software supplied includes educational programs on science, mathematics, and entertainment films for children as well as hardware for editing and dubbing equipment. Millions of Nepali children enjoyed and got benefit from the television software programs.
Supply of Micrographic Equipment to the Nepal National Library (1999)
The Government of Japan provided a cultural grant to His Majesty's Government of Nepal amounting to thirty seven million, four hundred thousand Japanese Yen for the Supply of Micrographic Equipment to Nepal National Library. The project is aimed to preserve ancient and valuable documents through microfilm. It is learnt that the grant has been useful in preserving many archaeological texts in microfilm that will be very useful for future generations.
Supply of Equipment for Exhibitions to National Museum of Nepal (2000)
The Government of Japan extended a cultural grant of forty six million, seven hundred thousand Japanese Yen to His Majesty's Government of Nepal for the Supply of Equipment for Exhibitions to Mandala Art Gallery of the National Museum of Nepal. The aid is aimed at preserving and protecting valuable items so as to contribute facilities to the researchers and students as well as foreign tourists to know about Nepal's traditional art and culture of Buddhism. Now, traditional and archaeologically valuable artifacts are preserved due to the grant aid.
Supply of Microfilm and Book Binding Equipment to the Central Library of Tribhuvan University (2002)
The Government of Japan provided 31.3 million Japanese yen to His Majesty's Government of Nepal for the supply of microfilm and book binding equipment to the Central Library of Tribhuvan University under cultural grant-in-aid scheme. The assistance is expected to preserve and repair old and historically valuable books and documents including Sanskrit manuscripts possessed by the library so as to promote cultural, educational and research activities for the future generations of Nepal as well as foreign scholars.
