Grand Master of the Tea Ceremony. Born in Kyoto 1936, graduated from Doshisha University. In 1978, he succeeded to the name of "Jochi" and the thirteenth head master of the "Yabunouchi" school of the Tea Ceremony. Both the name and school have lasted for 400 years since the founder, "Yabunouchi Chikuchu Jochi" who established them at the dawn of the Tea Ceremony.
