Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects is a scheme to provide financial assistance for the implementation of social and economic development and emergency humanitarian assistance projects being undertaken by Japanese NGOs in developing countries and regions. The basic format of this scheme consists of six major areas, including support for economic and social development cooperation activities that have a direct effect at the grassroots level and grant aid for NGO emergency humanitarian assistance projects etc.

Speaking at the function, H.E. Mr. Hiraoka reiterated the necessity of improving the basic health services and medical facilities of rural Nepal. At the same time, H.E. expressed his belief that this project, implemented by ADRA Japan, which has been providing assistance for the medical treatment in Nepal for over a decade in collaboration with ADRA Nepal, will benefit the local community and contribute to improving the health environment in the area, and will allow a better response to the communities' demand for health services.

H.E. Mr. Hiraoka expressed his belief that the construction of the new sub health post buildings during the memorable year of the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Nepal will play a significant role in symbolizing the friendly relations between the two nations at the people-to-people level.
