H.E. Mr. Tsutomu Hiraoka New Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Nepal

On November 19, His Excellency Mr. Tsutomu Hiraoka presented the Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev at the Narayanhity Royal Palace. He is succeeding Ambassador Zenji Kaminaga.

Mr. Hiraoka joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1973. In addition to his position at home as Director of the Division for the Protection of Japanese Nationals Overseas, he also served as the Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Service Training Institute.

In recent years, he served his diplomatic assignment abroad as Minister of the Japanese Embassy in Canada. Before being appointed Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, he served as Consul-General of Japan in Edinburgh, the United Kingdom.
