Four Japanese Awarded Gorkha-Dakshina Bahu

Four Japanese nationals were awarded the highest Nepali decoration, Gorkha-Dakshina-Bahu on the occasion of the 57th birthday of his Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.

Mr. Yuichiro Miura (70) was conferred with 'Suprabal Gorkha-Dakshina-Bahu' for his brilliant achievement, becoming the oldest person to conquer Sagarmatha this year on May 22.

Mr. Akihiko Makimoto, founder chairman of the Association for Nepali Backward Children's Association, was also awarded with 'Suprabal Gorkha-Dakshina-Bahu' for his highly distinguished social works in the remote regions of Nepal promoting education and health.

Mr. Takeshi Miyahara, founder of Hotel Everest View and Trans Himalayan Tours, was also conferred with 'Suprabal Gorkha-Dakshina-Bahu' for his devoted contribution to the promotion of tourism in Nepal and friendly relations between the people of Japan and Nepal for more than two decades.

Mr. Takeshi Fukuda was decorated with 'Prabal Gorkha-Dakshina-Bahu' for his outstanding contribution to the development of villages in Nepal.
