Madam Hashimoto, Wife of the Late Former Prime Minister of Japan Observes Kanti Children's Hospital

Madam Kumiko Hashimoto, wife of the late former Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Ryutaro Hashimoto, his eldest son, Ryo Hashimoto, and famous singer, Ms. Judy Ongg, are visiting Kanti Children's Hospital on March 30, 2007 at 15:00 hours with the purpose of observing the hospital's activities and extending a contribution to the burns ward to support under-privileged people seeking medical care.

With the personal interest and compassion of the late Mr. Hashimoto, a trust fund, "Hashimoto Trust Fund', was established at the hospital in 1993. This trust fund presents the 'Hashimoto Medical Award' to excellent personnel who are dedicated to the hospital and provides medical care free of cost to deserving patients. To support the Hashimoto Trust Fund, contributions have been extended time to time in order to meet the objective of the Trust. For example, last November Madam Hashimoto visited Kanti Children's Hospital and extended a contribution to the Trust.

Similarly, Ms. Judy Ongg also contributed a necessary fund to establish a burns ward at the hospital in 1993 to support deserving patients suffering from burns. Ms Ongg contributed several times to the burns ward between 1993 and 2000, and during this coming visit on March 30, she plans to make a further contribution to the hospital to strengthen the burns ward.

During their visit, Madam Hashimoto and Ms. Ongg will also meet with the Hospital Management and concerned officials of the hospital to learn about the present progress of the Hashimoto Trust Fund as well as to find out more about the activities of the hospital.
