A brief introduction of the Recipients

1. Ms. Amira DALI
Ms. Amira Dali earned a master degree of international business administration in Japan and received training from the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS), Japan. After returning to Nepal, she has been engaged in deepening the relationship between Japan and Nepal, as well as in Japan's ODA projects to promote international cooperation in the economic and technical cooperation field.

Ms. Dali established Love Green Nepal, a NGO, through which she has been running awareness programs for rural women’s self-support at the grassroots level to both deepen the relationship with Japan and for the resolution of development issues.

2. Mr. Yoshiharu KAMIMURA
Mr. KAMIMURA, as a committed member of the Steering Committee of the Japanese Supplementary School, Kathmandu for many years, has contributed to the smooth operation of the School. Moreover, he has been active in promoting the Japanese language as a Japanese Instructor at the Campus of International Languages, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. 

3. Mr. Kensei TOMITA
Mr. TOMITA has been responsible for the management of a Japanese restaurant “Kotetsu” in Kathmandu since 2006. The restaurant provides hospitality to local Japanese residents, businessmen and the diplomatic corps of Local Representatives, including Nepalese nationals, by providing high-quality Japanese cuisine. Kotetsu and Mr. Tomita have helped spread Japanese culture and cuisine in Nepal.

4. Ms. Jyunko NAITO
Ms. NAITO runs a Japanese restaurant called “Danran” in Lalitpur, providing a homely taste of Japanese food and hospitality. The restaurant has been contributing to the increase in the popularity of Japanese food in Nepal.

Ms. Naito, as President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Nepal since 2009, has attended private sector related meetings to provide useful advice from the point of view of Japanese investors, focusing on activities to improve the investment climate for Japanese companies and also attracting investment by Japanese companies in Nepal. 

 5. Dr. Rameshwar Prasad POKHAREL
Dr. Pokharel is the first Nepali medical doctor to be conferred a Doctorate Degree in Pediatric Surgery from Japan. Since his return from Japan, he has been engaged in medical practice as Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Pokhrel is the Founder of “AMDA Nepal”, which is a partner agency of the Japanese NGO ”AMDA” and he is the first Director of Siddhartha Children and Women Hospital.

6. MARUSHIN SHITAKA CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD
The company has been dispatching trainees in construction from Nepal to Japan every year. After completion of their training, the trainees have been actively engaged in the construction work of the company in its Nepal branch. Hence, the trust, the technical capabilities and the construction quality of the company have been enhanced through these trained personnel.

7. JAPANESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION NEPAL (JALTAN)
Since its establishment in 1998, JALTAN has been active in carrying out various activities to promote the Japanese language and the Japanese culture in Nepal, namely conducting the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and other Japanese language tests; organizing the Japanese Language Speech Contest and Japanese Teachers’ Seminars.  

8. JICA ALUMINI ASSOCIATION OF NEPAL (JAAN)
JAAN has been endeavoring to promote friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Nepal for the past four decades. Its core activities have been instrumental in proving itself as a hub of efficient manpower trained in Japan.  JAAN and its members have been providing technical and other services to meet various needs and expectations in the nation building efforts of Nepal. They are playing an even greater role in nation building through knowledge and skills acquired in Japan.
