Students at Education fair
Japanese Universities Alumni Association Nepal (JUAAN) in cooperation with the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and the Embassy of Japan organized the Japan
Education Fair 2010 at Pulchowk Engineering Campus on January 30. The purpose of the fair was to give insights to students wishing to further their studies in Japan on the various courses offered by universities and colleges there. Present at the Fair were the Cultural Secretary, Ms. Natsuko Hashimoto; members of JUAAN, and representative teachers from the Japanese Language Teachers' Association Nepal (JALTAN) to assist with enquiries on life and study in Japan as well as Japanese language study.
In order to give a comprehensive introduction to Japan, the Embassy of Japan screened 'A Glimpse into Japan' and other videos on studying in Japan. Approximately 400 students participated in the fair. The students showed keen interest in Japanese universities and asked questions about the entrance examination, selection methods for foreign students, the necessary level of Japanese linguistic ability, scholarship programs, and living expenses.
