Announcement of MEXT Scholarship

The Embassy of Japan announces the competition for Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarships for Nepali students for the academic year 2011 in the fields of natural sciences, humanities and social sciences.

Program Qualifications
1. Research Student Must be under 35 years of age (as of April 1, 11) and have completed at least 16 years of education and secured 70% marks for Natural Sciences and 60% for Humanities and Social Sciences in aggregate in all level of exams.
2. Undergraduate Student and Professional Training College Student Must have been born between April 2, 1989 & April 1, 1994 and have secured 75% marks for Natural Sciences and 65% for Humanities and Social Sciences in aggregate in SLC & + 2 exams.

Written Examination will be held on July 31.

The field of study must be the same as the applicants' previous study leading to their final graduation. Applicants need to attach attested copies of certificates & mark-sheets along with the application.

Application forms for Research Students will be available at the Embassy from April 19 and application forms for Undergraduate and Professional Training College Students will be available from June 28. Applications are also available at www.np.embjapan.go.jp.

The Embassy will accept completed applications in person at the following times only:

Research Student May 03-07 09:30-12:30 hrs.
Undergraduate Student July 19-23 09:30-12:30 hrs.
Professional Training College Student July 19-23 14:30-16:30 hrs.
