On March 18, JUAAN organized an orientation at the Embassy Hall for ten Nepali students (six research, two undergraduate and two professional training students) who received Monbukagakusho Scholarships for the Japanese academic year 2010.

The Orientation was designed to provide students with practical advice on a wide range of subjects such as preparing for study, services and facilities available on campus; rules and responsibilities relating to overseas student health cover; general information about living in Japan, and local customs and attitudes.

In order to give students a comprehensive introduction on Japan and student life, JUAAN also screened information videos. Among the students selected this year, are research students who are going to pursue their higher studies in The University of Tokyo; Miyazaki University; Kobe University; Osaka University, and Kyoto University. In addition, there are undergraduate and professional training students who are going to study Japanese language at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies for a year.
